The Northwest School is known for being passionate about both Ultimate Frisbee and service to local and global communities. Last year, the school started an interactive photo map of Northwest Frisbees around the world.

Congratulations to seniors Khalif E. and Jesse B., and NWS Alum Kilian Marsh '11: Khalif and Kilian have been selected to the U-20 Open team for the 2012 World Junior Ultimate Championships in Dublin, Ireland to be held August 12-18. Jesse was named an alternate.
Coach Joe Bisignano was honored, for the second year in a row, as the 2011 Washington State 1A Girls’ Cross Country Coach of the Year by the Washington State Cross Country Coaches’ Association.

The Emerald City League recently released their All League teams for this basketball season: Mariah W. was voted to the girls' All League First Team; Jack B. was voted the boys' Rookie of the Year and Varsity Boys Team received the league's Team Sportsmanship award.

Partaking in National Signing Day, NWS Senior Maddie M. signed a letter of intent with the University of Washington, joining the storied running program. Her signing culminates a busy recruiting season as she picked the Huskies from the likes of powerhouse running programs Georgetown and Oregon. Congratulations to Maddie!
Upper School Basketball teams went 5-0 on Saturday, January 28, pulling in wins in some very close games!
With just minutes left in the Varsity Boys' game against Auburn Adventist, Charlie T. hit a 30-footer—sending the game into overtime. The team went on to win 65-59 in OT.
Maddie M. '12 has been nominated, along with four other accomplished women athletes from Washington, for the Female Sports Star of the Year at the 77th Annual Sports Star of the Year event. This is a huge award and she is the only high school athlete among the nominees. The Seattle Sports Commission and the Sports Star of the Year committee chose Maddie from among all the non-professional female athletes in Washington.

Varsity Girls' Soccer head coach Mike Mullen and assistant coaches, Jeff Blair and Chris Bauer were awarded the Emerald City League Coach of the Year Award.
